FORMAT - SCHEDULE - GENERAL INFORMATION
The Regular and Senior divisions will be conducted concurrently. The total field size between the two championships will be no more than 92 Teams. The Regular division will have between 60-68 teams. The Senior division will have between 24-30 teams.
TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE

First Round - Tee times 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM
Light breakfast and refreshments on the course

Friday, May 2nd
Second Round - Tee times 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM

Saturday, May 3rd
Final Round -Tee times 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM
Light breakfast and refreshments on the course
Lunch and awards ceremony following play.
Course Setup:
The Regular division will compete at approximately 6800-7000 yards [Black Tees], and the Senior division will compete at approximately 6500 yards [Blue Tees].
All information will be shared with teams electronically. Hole location sheets will be available on starting tee #1 & #10. Evacuation, should it be necessary, will return teams to the Clubhouse.
Scoring will utilize Golf Genius and be verified at the Scoring Area. Live scoring is mandatory for all teams.
ELIGIBILITY
Regular Division
Entries are open to male amateur golfers whose combined team handicap index does not exceed 7.0 under the World Handicap System at the time of entry acceptance.
Senior Division
Entries are open to male amateur golfers who have reached 55 years of age on or before May 1st, 2025, and whose combined team handicap index does not exceed 8.0 under the World Handicap System at the time of entry acceptance.
AWARDS
Four-Ball Championship trophies from the Regular and Senior divisions will be presented to the winning team.
Should there be a tie for the Champion in either division, a playoff will immediately follow play. The Four-Ball Committee reserves the right to make adjustments to the prize allocation.
ENTRY PROCESS - ENTRIES OPEN February 12th, 2025, at 08:00 AM EST
All entries must be made online on the BHCC Four-Ball Portal and must be received by the Championship Office staff by the entry deadline (midnight Eastern Daylight Time on March 19th, 2025). Entries should be submitted early to allow ample time to be reviewed by the committee. Applicants will fall into one of two categories: Championship Exempt, or Championship Non-Exempt. The Championship field will be finalized by Friday, April 4 at the latest. All applicants will be notified immediately of their status via email.
Entry Fee: $800.00 per team (Credit Card payment information will be collected upon receipt of entry, but will not be processed until the application is accepted). Withdrawals after entries close up to and including April 30th, 2025, will be issued a refund minus a $30 processing fee. Withdrawals after May 1st, 2025, will not receive a refund except in cases of extenuating circumstances and will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
All refunds are at the discretion of the Four-Ball Committee.
Entry fee includes cart fees for tournament rounds, a practice round tee time on Wednesday, April 30th (excluding cart), and use of the practice facilities starting Thursday, May 1st.
Meals
Breakfast and lunch on days you play in the competition are included in your entry fee.
APPLICATION PROCESS
Teams meeting BHCC Four-Ball exemption criteria will be invited to compete. Teams not meeting exemption criteria will be considered by the Four-Ball Committee and tournament admittance will largely (but not exclusively) be based on the golf resume received. All decisions are at the discretion of the Championship Committee, and all decisions are final.
Teams are encouraged to supplement their application by submitting a playing resume through Golf Genius at the time of registration. The playing resume, along with various rankings, may be used to determine the remaining teams that are accepted.
ON-SITE REGISTRATION
On-site Championship registration will take place Thursday, May 1st, from 6:00 AM-3:00 PM outside the golf shop. One member of each team must register in person.
**Failure to register without notification to the Championship Office may result in the team forfeiting their spot in the event.
PRACTICE ROUNDS - PRACTICE FACILITIES
The official practice round is Wednesday, April 30th.
Please call the golf shop (703-329-5264) after April 6th to schedule your practice round.
Additional practice rounds are approved only when accompanied by a member and applicable guest fees will apply. Use of the practice facilities before May 1st is only permitted when accompanied by a member and applicable guest fees will apply.

Teams are responsible for finding and making their accommodations.

AUTOMOTIVE TRANSPORTATION AND CADDIES
Carts are included in the entry fee and must be used. Walking is not permitted.
CONDITIONS/SCHEDULES
The Belle Haven Four Ball Committee reserves the right to alter any of the conditions, provisions, and/or schedules herein. The decision of the Committee in any matter will be final. The Four-Ball Committee may reject an entry application, revoke an accepted application, expel from the Championship, and/or suspend a team from future championships if the team engages in conduct detrimental to the integrity and image of the game of golf in violation of the championship Code of Conduct.
TOURNAMENT TEE TIMES
Tournament tee times for both Divisions will be determined randomly by Golf Genius. No changes will be made to these tee times. No special tee time accommodations will be made. Each team will have a random Morning and Afternoon tee time on Thursday and Friday in fairness to the field. Teams will play with players in their division only. Saturday Tee times will be determined by score.
DRESS CODE
Contestants and caddies are expected to wear golf-appropriate attire at all times when using the practice facilities, golf course, or while visiting the clubhouse. No short shorts, jeans, cut-offs, tank tops, halter tops, or the like are permitted. No metal or ceramic spikes are permitted.
CODE OF CONDUCT
In fairness to the field of competition: At all times during the Championship and on the golf course property, including both the practice round and championship portion, the following actions by contestants or caddies will be considered violations of the Conduct Code: any abusive language, club throwing, cheating, disrespect of volunteers or other contestants or officials, abuse of the course, leaving the course during the competitive round without permission from a Four Ball official, any use or association with drugs, any abuse of alcohol, not adhering to the dress code during any portion of the Championship, any vandalism, or any other conduct not becoming of a Four Ball contestant. The penalties for Conduct Code violations, based on the severity of the misconduct, may be any or all of the following: a warning, 1 or 2-stroke penalty, disqualification of the team from the Championship, removal from the golf course property, suspension of the team and/or caddie indefinitely from Four-Ball Championships.
RULES OF GOLF
The Rules of Golf as approved by the USGA, as modified by the Local Rules established by the Four-Ball Committee, will be used. The Four-Ball Committee reserves the right to alter any of the conditions and schedules herein. Changes in the Championship format caused by force majeure shall be within the sole discretion of the Four-Ball Committee. The decisions of the Four-Ball Committee in any matter shall be final.
INVITATIONS - CHAMPIONSHIP EXEMPTION CATEGORIES
Teams in the following categories will be eligible for an exemption into the 2025 Championship [see below]. The Four-Ball Committee reserves the right to revise any of the exemption categories.
Exempt teams who wish to participate in the Championship must file an entry prior to the entry deadline and must not exceed the Handicap Index requirement as of the entry date.
A-1 | Past Belle Haven Four Ball Champions
A-2 | USGA exemptions: Players who have qualified to play in a USGA Championship in the previous 3 years
A-3 | State exemptions: Top 25 in a state player ranking in the last year
A-4 | State Senior exemption: Top 10 in a state Senior player rankings in the last year*
A-5 | MAGA exemption: Top 10 in the MAGA Men’s Amateur or top 5 in the MAGA Senior Championship last year
A-6 | Winner and or runner-up of any State Association Stroke or Match Play championship last year.
B-1 | Teams that made the cut in last year’s Belle Haven Four-Ball
C-1 | EXEMPTIONS BASED ON SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS
A limited number of exemptions may be granted based on special considerations and/or written resumes submitted to Golf Genius Registration.
*Exemptions will not be automatically granted if only one player has met exemption criteria.
